Fair Employment and Housing Council

The Fair Employment and Housing Council promulgates regulations that implement California’s employment and housing anti-discrimination laws. It also conducts inquiries and holds hearings on civil rights issues confronting the state.

Fair Employment and Housing Council’s Regulations Regarding National Origin Discrimination. The Council’s Regulations Regarding National Origin Discrimination has been approved by the Office of Administrative Law and was filed with the Secretary of State on May 17, 2018. The effective date of the regulations is July 1, 2018.

Fair Employment and Housing Council’s Regulations Regarding Transgender Identity and Expression. The Council’s Regulations Regarding Transgender Identity and Expression has been approved by the Office of Administrative Law and was filed with the Secretary of State on May 26, 2017. The effective date of the regulations is July 1, 2017.

Fair Employment and Housing Council’s Consideration of Criminal History in Employment Decisions Regulations. The Council’s Consideration of Criminal History in Employment Decisions Regulations has been approved by the Office of Administrative Law and was filed with the Secretary of State on March 27, 2017. The effective date of the regulations is July 1, 2017.

Fair Employment and Housing Council’s Amendments to the Fair Employment and Housing Act Regulations. The Council’s Amendments to the Fair Employment and Housing Act Regulations has been approved by the Office of Administrative Law and was filed with the Secretary of State on December 9, 2015. Fair Employment and Housing Council’s Amendments to the California Family Rights Act Regulations. The Council’s Amendments to the California Family Rights Act Regulations has been approved by the Office of Administrative Law and was filed with the Secretary of State on March 4, 2015. The effective date of the regulations is July 1, 2015.

Fair Employment and Housing Council’s Changes without Regulatory Effect. The Council’s Changes without Regulatory Effect has been approved by the Office of Administrative Law and published in the California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 11000 et seq. This rulemaking action only renumbered the Council’s regulations and made technical changes, which are reflected above in the other rulemaking actions and current regulations.
