Website Accessibility Certification

The Civil Rights Department (CRD) certifies that this website complies with Government Code Section 11546.7, as follows:

CRD is committed to providing a website accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. This website seeks to comply with Government Code Section 7405 (incorporating Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act), Government Code section 11135, and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities.

On February 27, 2020, CRD launched a new website to enhance user experience, accessibility, and access to information. All site pages are tested through a W3C compliant validation product to monitor compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. CRD used Job Access Word Speech (JAWS), NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) and Voiceover screen reader software to assist in determining both accessibility compliance and level of practical usability.

If you would like additional assistance or have accessibility concerns, please contact our ADA Coordinator at Accommodations@calcivilrights.ca.gov, or our website administrator at ITSupport@calcivilrights.ca.gov.
